The Prince of Wales has begun his latest official tour for all the world as if he was not visiting one of the world's top trouble spots, Pakistan, surrounded by high security.He will venture well beyond the Pakistani capital and his visit will last five days, longer than most visiting VIPs manage. When the US president, George Bush, paid a call this year he stayed only 24 hours and never left Islamabad's quaintly named diplomatic enclave where many countries, including Britain, have their embassies under heavily armed protection. The prince is accompanied by his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, and today they started with a courtesy call on the president of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf.
