The U.S. East Coast and Florida are almost twice as likely to be hit by a major hurricane this year as the battered communities along the Gulf of Mexico coast, forecasters at Colorado State University said today. Five major hurricanes, with winds of at least 111 miles per hour (178 kilometers per hour), are likely to form in the Atlantic basin this year, and there's an 82 percent chance that at least one of them will hit the U.S., meteorologists Philip J. Klotzbach and William M.
