Death Squad in Delaware: The Case of the Murdered Marine |
Delaware was the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution. It may be the first state to be afflicted with a fully operational death squad – unless a civil lawsuit filed on Friday against the murders of Derek J. Hale results in criminal charges and a complete lustration (in the Eastern European sense of the term) of Delaware's law enforcement establishment. Hale, a retired Marine Sergeant who served two tours in Iraq and was decorated before his combat-related medical discharge in January 2006, was murdered by a heavily armed 8–12-member undercover police team in Wilmington, Delaware last November 6. He had come to Wilmington from his home in Manassas, Virginia to participate in a Toys for Tots event. ... http://www.lewrockwell.com/grigg/grigg-w10.html

Military beefs up Internet arsenal. They want to block all that don’t meet their approval. |
The U.S. military is quietly expanding capabilities to attack terrorist computer networks, including websites that glorify insurgent attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq, military officials and experts say. The move comes as al-Qaeda and other groups fighting in Iraq and elsewhere have expanded their activities on the Internet and increased the sophistication and volume of their videos and messages. Much of the material is designed to raise money and recruit fighters for Iraq. "You should not let them operate uncontested" on the Internet and elsewhere in cyberspace, said Marine Brig. Gen. John Davis, who heads a military command located at the National Security Agency. The command was established to develop ways to attack computer networks. Big Brother only wants his approved story to get out, and you can be sure they are doing it for your protection. They don’t want you bothered with any unpleasant unofficial news that may make you feel uncomfortable. ... http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2007-03-28-cyber-war_N.htm

Senate's Bold Proposal for Iraq: Sugar Beets and Rural Schools -- in the U.S. |
Midway through the Senate debate yesterday over the "emergency" spending bill for Iraq, Barbara Boxer rose to speak in favor -- of strawberries. "There's a song called 'Strawberry Fields Forever,' " the California Democrat declared on the Senate floor, as an aide displayed a poster of an icy berry patch. "This is a strawberry field," Boxer continued, seeking funds for frostbitten fruit farmers. "It looks like an ice rink. The strawberries are somewhere in there; they are destroyed. I also want to show you oranges. . . . Here you can see the icicles near the avocados."The relationship between crops and troops was lost on Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who backed an amendment that would remove spending for sugar beets and other agricultural pursuits. "I don't see how the asparagus-spinach problem helps us win in Iraq," he argued at a news conference. "This is a bill designed to help people that are getting shot at."... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/03/28/AR2007032802091_pf.html

Russian intelligence sees U.S. military buildup on Iran border |
Russian military intelligence services are reporting a flurry of activity by U.S. Armed Forces near Iran's borders, a high-ranking security source said Tuesday. "The latest military intelligence data point to heightened U.S. military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran," the official said, adding that the Pentagon has probably not yet made a final decision as to when an attack will be launched. He said the Pentagon is looking for a way to deliver a strike against Iran "that would enable the Americans to bring the country to its knees at minimal cost." He also said the U.S. Naval presence in the Persian Gulf has for the first time in the past four years reached the level that existed shortly before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. ... http://en.rian.ru/russia/20070327/62697703.html

Saudi king hits U.S. in Iraq |
Saudi King Abdullah, a key U.S. ally in the Middle East, yesterday slammed what he termed the "illegitimate foreign occupation" of neighboring Iraq and called for an end to the "unjust" U.S.-backed financial blockade of the Palestinian government. In a rare public spat, both the White House and State Department quickly rejected the king's description of the U.S. mission in Iraq. National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said flatly the king was "wrong" in questioning the legitimacy of the U.S. troop presence in Iraq. Abdullah spoke at the opening of a two-day summit in Riyadh in which Arab leaders formally revived a 2002 Saudi peace plan, under which Arab governments would recognize Israel in return for the creation of a Palestinian state and Israeli concessions on borders, control of Jerusalem and the fate of Palestinian refugees with claims on property inside Israel.... http://www.washingtontimes.com/world/20070328-115324-2328r.htm
