Russia is holding talks with Venezuela to supply it with mobile air defense missile systems, a Russian news agency reported Tuesday, citing a defense sector source.Between 10 and 12 Tor-M1 missile systems could be supplied to Venezuela at the initial stage, the Interfax-Military News Agency said, citing a source it did not name. A spokesman for Russia's state-controlled arms trading monopoly, Rosoboronexport, refused to comment on the report. The ITAR-Tass news agency said the report was denied by Venezuela's Defense Ministry. The Tor-M1 system consists of eight missiles mounted on a launch vehicle. The system can identify up to 48 targets and fire at two targets simultaneously at a height of up to 20,000 feet.
