One of two brothers who owned the nightclub where 100 people died in a horrific 2003 fire was sentenced to jail as part of a plea deal enacted despite demands from angry relatives who wanted to see the case go to trial. Michael Derderian was ordered to spend four years in prison for the fire at his West Warwick establishment. Brother and co-owner Jeffrey Derderian received three years probation and 500 hours community service."Lady Justice in Rhode Island is blind, but she's also deaf," testified Jay McLaughlin, the brother-in-law of victims Sandy and Michael Hoogasian.
