From the campaign of... Judge James P. "Jim" Gray Candidate for U.S. Senate During my years as a judge in Juvenile Court, as well as on those numbers of occasions I have spoken to groups of young people, I have tried to pass along the 3 essential rules for avoiding poverty: 1) Graduate from high school; 2) Do not have children without being married; and 3) Get a job -- any job. A lack of education does not foreclose economic success, but it does seriously reduce the chances. Trying to raise children without a committed partner truly limits that person's potential chances for success, as well as that of the children. And if a person develops good work habits, attitudes and dependabilities an entry-level job almost always will lead to bigger and better opportunities. That has been proved time and time again. During the months remaining in this campaign for U.S. Senate, please help me pass along three practical rules to our young people. Our entire campaign centers around policies and programs that work, and avoiding a life of poverty is at the top of the list. --:-- DEBATES PROPOSED: Judge Gray formally challenged Barbara Boxer and the Republican nominee to a series of 14-to-20 debates for the spring, summer and fall, in a hand-delivered letter to the Senator's campaign office. Judge Gray will outline the details of his proposed series of debates on Friday, April 23 at an event in Santa Barbara. Judge Gray first proposed debates on March 1st. --:-- Please forward this message on to your email community, along with your endorsement both to support Judge J.
